The Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) is a regional organization formed with the purpose of unifying the six Arab Gulf states: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The GCC is committed to four primary objectives: to bolster coordination, integration, and interconnectivity among member states; to strengthen existing ties between the people of the states in various areas; to create similar laws and regulations across fields such as economics, finance, commerce, customs, communications, education, culture, social and health affairs, information, tourism, and more; and to foster technological progress in industries, mining, agriculture, and water and animal resources, as well as to create research centers and joint projects.
