Petro Rabigh - Saudi Arabia

Petro Rabigh is an integrated refining and petrochemical complex that was established in 2005 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical. With an estimated value of US $10 billion, the plant produces 18.4 million tons per annum (mtpa) of petroleum-based products and 2.4 mtpa of ethylene and propylene-based derivatives. These products are used in many applications such as plastics, detergents, lubricants, resins, coolants, auto interiors, epoxy glue, insulation, film, fibers, household appliances, packaging, candles, pipes and many other items. Petro Rabigh II, a US $9 billion expansion project, came to full production in the 4th Quarter of 2017 and produces a range of high value-added products that are exclusive to the region.
